Hey there Marylanders, I have a quick question for you.

Do you know of any reputable piercers in OC? I need an answer as quickly as possible, because I'm going down tomorrow for a day trip (My family got a condo for a week and I just now decided to visit them). I would like to pierce my nose.

I emphasize reputable because I know there are a LOT of...erm...skeezy tattoo/piercing parlors, especially around beaches.

Thank you!

Generations of visitors? Jun. 15th, 2007 @ 03:42 pm
I am writing an article for our website, www.oceancity.com, and would like to share some stories of families that have been visiting Ocean City for generations, or people who first visited OC as a child and now bring their own children or grandchildren with them. I am especially interested in hearing about places in OC that haven't changed in all that time, which have become family traditions to visit. If you or your family has a story like that, please leave a comment or email me at asimaiyat@gmail.com. Thanks!

Just wanted to let everyone know that the annual Sandcastle Contest is coming soon -- the planned date is June 9th, rain date June 10th. The contest features separate categories for kids, teens, teams, and adults, plus an exhibition of the work of professional artists. It's always a great time and a show of amazing creativity. » Restaurant Week, June 2-9
I was just wondering if anyone is going to take advantage of the first Ocean City Restaurant Week to try a new restaurant or get a discount at a favorite spot. It's always fun in DC, so this should be interesting, too.

» Ocean City Loyalists Wanted

Considering this community even exists, many people clearly have a passion for Ocean City. As such, I wanted to let you all know about a word-of-mouth group that exists to promote Ocean City. There are currently 70 members, but we are always looking to expand.

The Ocean City Tourism Department is looking for volunteers to receive and spread the word about Ocean City's "inside information" to
friends, family and coworkers about why it's "More Fun Here." The information will come in the form of an email approximately once a month from now until fall, and all you will have to do is forward it via email and talk about it in conversation. Your role will be crucial in spreading the news within the community and attracting new visitors.

Please email ocau@mghus.com if you would like to become an Ocean City ambassador and become part of a campaign that lets the real Ocean City lovers promote the city that has already won their affection. If you have any questions and/or concerns, please feel free to email or IM me at OCAMBASSADORUNIT.

Thank you!

some of you may remember me recently posting an ad for spectacle, the art showcase at 33 west in downtown dover. it's become such a cool little show that i've decided to hold my own down here at the beach (ocean city). it won't be spectacle, of course, i haven't settled on a name just yet. but it will be cool. there's really no place down here for local young artists to congregate and network, and i'm trying to change that.

having said that, i'm looking for local artists who would like to showcase their work. SO, if you (or someone you know) are a talented artist who would like to show off said talents, leave me a comment. preferably containing a link to some of your work.

» i need friends! :(
i know there's never much action in this community, but on the off chance you people do actually check up on it..

my name is jeannine, i'm a 23 year-old photographer/receptionist and i need to make some local friends. i have tons of friends in upstate de (where i'm originally from), but for as long as i've been here (fenwick island) i've just never managed to find the right circle of people to chill with. i know, i know, i'm not a true local. you'll just have to forgive me for that. ;)

SO, in closing, if you'd like to make a cool new friend, hit me up.

i don't know how many of you already know about this, but for those of you who don't, you should. anyone who is remotely interested in art and other like-minded people should come. also, i'm always there and have kinda become the unofficial 'event photographer' (see pictures from the emily gibson/john sorber showing).. so if you show up there's a pretty good chance you'll end up on the site. ;) and who knows, maybe some day you'll see my work hanging up at a show.

also, you should check out indofunk.net. it's a really good way to find cool local events. jeremy bell (of the metrosexuals -- also the host of spectacle) runs it, and he's done a pretty damn good job so far. :)
